Photo Friday: Name That Turtle
Last weekend, The Boy and I went to the Evergreen Brickworks and took a long walk in the Don Valley woods. I’ve talked about how much I love this place before, and this trip was no exception. The trees were green, we saw more birds than ever before, and the trails had been much improved, making for less of an off-roading wheelchair experience .
But that’s not what I’m going to be showing you today.
Today, we are going to name a turtle. More specifically, the )one of the?) snapping turtle that lives in the ponds surrounding the Brickworks and the meadow. I’ve seen its shadow before, but last Saturday, we were treated to something really special.
First, I saw it like this.
Then it started moving, coming out of the corner, and peeking up over the water.
And then things got very confusing.
This was naturally also when I thought of a perfect name for it (a nickname for Richard, to be specific), but it has occurred to me that we should give it another name.
