2019 Calendars or How’d It Get To Be October Already?
It is like always like this: I have spent the first three weeks of October in a frenzy of going through every single photo I took since January 1 of the year, sorting, editing, sorting again (I take a lot of photos), doing significant battle with myself about which of my favourites get to prevail. All in preparation to make the annual calendars.
A few years ago, a very clever friend suggested I place a monthly reminder in my Outlook calendar to do just watch such things are designed to do: remind me to review and make choices in the photos I took that month. This, she believed, would make the annual calendar extravaganza much less painful easier.
So, I did exactly as she suggested that and then…. Well, I’ll do it for a month, maybe two, then inevitably be busy when it pops up, dismiss the reminder with the full intention of getting to that just as soon as I have some time.
You can see where this is going, can’t you? Because then I don’t.
There is a saying that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result. I’m not sure if this means I’ve lost my mind, but it certainly means that I have no memory of how difficult it is to pull it all together. Because then I would actually do what my very clever friend suggested.
I blame brainfog. It’s got to be good for something, right?
Anyway, this is not about how laughable my approach to big projects is. This is to introduce the 2019 The Seated View calendars!
