Photo Friday: Bird’s Eye View
It was a sunny day, not a cloud in the sky and although The Boy and I prefer zero visibility when we visit the CN Tower, we decided to give it a go.
I’m a big fan of the new floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows that allow people who travel seated to actually see the view. I’ve been up many times since I first came to Canada thirty-something years ago, but this is the first time I have actually seen the same thing as everyone else.
And it’s breathtaking.
We’ve been on a lot of adventures this year and almost every time, I’ve found myself saying to things about Toronto:
“We live in a really beautiful place.”
“The city. My the city.” (And if you can guess what that quote is from, you get a gold star)
Seeing it all from above pulls the city together, makes a whole out of many different areas and neighbourhoods.
But it’s more than that. Seeing it from this height makes you feel a little like what I’ve heard astronauts say. That seeing the earth from above blurs the lines between nations and make you love this earth of ours passionately.
Toronto Islands and beyond, The Leslie Street Spit aka Tommy Thompson Park, aka The Ptui
And it was like that. Because it was about the earth — whose curvature you can see on the horizon — and about the city. And I love them both passionately.
The glass floor above the glass floor is quite something…
Wonderful pictures as always.
My Guess: Lego the Movie?
